Stew Hen

Stew Hens are laying hens that have been retired from pasture. Being an older bird than a chicken raised specifically for meat, they are more flavorful, and their meat can be a bit tougher. We recommend using stew hens for broth, soup, gumbo, Coq au Vin, or other slow cooking dishes. Our laying hens are fed a non-GMO, no corn, no soy feed in addition to what they forage on pasture.
